Intelligent Pressure Care Management wins Queen’s Award for Innovation

Direct Healthcare Services has earned royal recognition with a prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation for our Intelligent Pressure Care Management solution.

The Queen’s Award for Enterprise is the highest official UK award for British businesses. To win, businesses have to demonstrate outstanding commercial success and a unique approach to a new invention, service or product.

Our Intelligent Pressure Care Management, featuring the Dyna-Form® Mercury Advance powered hybrid mattress, was designed to help make a measurable difference in the delivery of harm-free patient care, specifically to reduce incidences of pressure ulcers.

The patented design, a hybrid of a high specification foam mattress and a dynamic mattress, allows nurses to instantly convert any standard hospital bed into a dynamic mattress, enabling earlier intervention for ‘at risk’ patients.
Currently 35,000 patients a day in the UK are nursed on the Dyna-Form® Mercury Advance powered hybrid mattress.

Graham Ewart, managing director, said: “Delivering genuine innovation that makes a real difference to both patients and the lives of our hardworking healthcare professionals is at the very heart of everything we do, so we are incredibly honoured to receive such a prestigious award. We are even more proud that our solution has been of huge benefit to the NHS, helping patients and saving valuable time and resources.”
