Lap-Belt – DU701 (Medium 4-Point), DU703 (Medium 2-Point), DU704 (Large 2-Point), DU705 (Large 4-Point)

The Lap-Belt works in conjunction with seating to maintain the posture of those individuals that need extra pelvic support. The belt helps to retain the position of the pelvis to prevent inappropriate rotation, sliding or movement.

The Lap-Belt helps stabilise the pelvis and position the occupant in the back of the chair to achieve a good sitting posture and reduce the risk of tissue damage through the effects of shear, which can occur if the occupant has an unstable posture.

Simple to fit and easy to adjust, the Lap-Belt provides assurance to the carer and reduces the risk of injury for the user.

The Lap-Belt is suitable for the following uses:

  • Protection against injury
  • Providing a sense of security
  • For those who have a tendency to lean when seated
  • For use with the majority of Kirton specialist seating

The Lap-Belt is not suitable for the following users:

  • Users with thrusts, spasms and strong movements (unless specified following clinical assessment)
